Teachers Guide
The Teachers Guide provides essential information for schools, principals, classroom teachers and youth leaders wishing to participate in the Youth Challenge. Over 260 schools and youth groups across the state have participated in the program since the Challenge was launched in Queensland three years ago. The Teachers Guide aims to:
- Reinforce the link between the Youth Challenge and Education Queensland curriculum
- Provide advice for conducting the Youth Challenge in your school/classroom/organisation
- Support teachers and facilitators in developing learning activities for conducting the Youth Challenge within the classroom/youth setting
- Present sample assessment tasks to implement or adapt when conducting the Youth Challenge

Curriculum connections
Classroom teachers will be able to incorporate the Crime
Stoppers Youth Challenge Queensland into their curriculum
plans. Assessment tasks and teacher materials have been
developed linking the Crime Stoppers Youth Challenge
Queensland program to the QSA Senior Secondary Syllabuses
and the QCAR Framework Essential Learnings and Standards.
The Teachers Guide has been developed in conjunction with the
Department of Education and Training. It further demonstrates
the alignment of curriculum, pedagogy and assessment to
enable teachers to report on student achievement. The Teachers
Guide is available to download via the link above. Alternatively hard copies are
also available upon request.
Schools region map
For the 2010 Crime Stoppers Youth Challenge Queensland, the
State will be divided into 11 regions. Please review the 2010 Challenge Brochure for a detailed list of the regions. Please note also, Crime Stoppers Queensland Limited have chosen to divide the Greater Brisbane Region into two competing regions; North and South, split by the Brisbane River.

School visits
Schools visits can be arranged by the Crime Stoppers Youth Challenge Queensland team to present to school staff, students and youth groups throughout the state. Please contact us if you wish to arrange a visit. You may also like to arrange a visit to your local Police Station. Evaluation
To ascertain the effectiveness of the program and to continually improve its delivery, you may be invited to participate in an evaluation process during Semester Two. |
