Resources
The Crime Stoppers Youth Challenge Queensland provides an opportunity for students to connect with their local community. Within all communities across Queensland there will be relevant contacts who can offer their expertise and understanding to assist students in their analysis and interpretation of some of the complex areas of law and victim support. This can be achieved by conducting interviews with such contacts, as listed below.

Local research partners
Crime Stoppers Area Committee representative: the role of Crime Stoppers within the community.
Queensland Police Service: how a crime such as vandalism may be reported, procedures and priorities applied when a crime is reported, how a crime is investigated and some of the consequences of committing such a crime.
Contact details for the above listed research partner representatives in your local area may be forwarded to you upon request once registration is completed.
Additional support contacts
Justice system representatives: what happens when someone enters the justice system.
Insurance representatives: how a crime impacts the economy.
Media: relevant articles and news items.
It is advisable for teachers and/or supervisors to make the first contact with the research partners to ensure possibilities and protocols are established prior to student contact. Students need to be equipped with the knowledge and skills and have a clear understanding of the sensitivity of their inquiries. Students should be adequately prepared before they conduct interviews with any Crime Stoppers representatives, Police Officers, members of the community and other relevant contacts.
